Bead Club
The Bead Club is back for its second year with six brand new designs. The Bead Club offers you the opportunity to sample a variety of Debbie Abrahams' beads through a collection of six beautiful and unique knitting designs. Renowned Rowan designers Sarah Hatton, Jane Crowfoot, Alison Crowther-Smith, Sarah Hazell, and Debbie Abrahams have each created an exclusive accessory design for the Club which will be available to members only. This is a fabulous way to either use up your existing stash or treat yourself to a new project!
The projects will be seasonal, so there will be something exciting to work on for Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter. The club starts in February and runs until December. Every other month each member will receive an exclusive pattern and the beads you will need to complete them with. Each pattern uses between two and four bags of beads and all prices include postage costs

About - I studied textile design at Winchester School Of Art in the UK where I specialized in knit design. Following graduation I worked as a freelance textile designer. In 1996 I became a Design Consultant for Rowan Yarns whilst also working with Debbie Bliss, for whom I designed many knitting projects. In 2004 I became Design Consultant Manager for Rowan Yarns and was responsible for looking after over 40 consultants across the UK.
I have worked as a consultant for Rowan Yarns for the past 15 years and tutor many knitting and crochet workshops across the UK offering hands on advice to knitters and crocheters through teaching and demonstrations. In the last few years I have concentrated on developing my design work and have launched my own range of downloadable patterns for the home and also run a yearly Crochet Club, which gives members the chance to create an exclusive crochet project.
I am the author of 'Finishing Techniques for Hand Knitters', 'Two Stitch Knits', 'The Ultimate Crochet Bible' and "Vintage Knits". In Spring 2013 I am launching my first self-published book called "Kaleiodoscope" which is co- authored by my good friend Debbie Abrahams.

About - Alison is a free-lance knitting designer and teacher. For some years she was a Design Consultant for Rowan Yarns, gaining extensive experience in teaching all over the country. She continues to knit with Rowan yarns and specialises in accessories, mitts and small garments. She is based in Somerset and teaches specialist workshops at her home as well as at independent knitting stores, usually in the South West. Workshop topics include A Knitted Christmas, Moebius Knitting, Mittens to Knit, and Decorative Cuffs as well as days devoted to knitting accessories designed by Alison as knitting kits.
Alison’s favourite yarn is Kidsilk Haze which she often combines with other yarns. The addition of beads and sequins to many of her designs affirms how blessed she is with the glitter gene. Pretty, delicate and often very quick-to-knit designs are her trademarks.
She has published three books: ‘Shibori Knitted Felt’, ‘Little Luxury Knits’ and ‘Lacy Knits’. She is currently working on a collaborative project and a small collection of entirely frivolous dance-inspired accessories.

FAQs
What is the bead club about?
The bead club is a bi-monthly project using Debbie Abrahams Beads split between 10 months. Every other month members will receive an exclusive design from five top knit wear designers and the beads needed to complete the project.
These designs will not be published or re-produced in other form, so you will be part of a very special one-off project.
How many months will the project run for?
The club starts mid February 2013 and runs for 10 months. The five remaining instalments will be sent out on or just before the 1st of every other month, except for the December project which will be sent out in November due to customer requests for an earlier mailing for the Christmas project!
How do I subscribe to the Bead Club?
Membership is strictly on a first-come-first-served basis and there are a set number of places in the club. To apply, add to cart or download the application form online and make your payment. When your place is confirmed, you’ll receive a membership number and a confirmation email and then you can just sit back and wait for your first package to arrive in February.
How can I pay for my club membership?
There are four ways to pay for the Bead Club:
Add to cart - Simply add your membership to the cart fill in your details and check out.
BACS - payment is set up by you, through your bank, to deposit money in DA beads bank account (Santander/ account number: 24693180/ sort code: 72-00-01)

Personal Cheque - Cheques are made payable to Debbie Abrahams Beads and sent to 26, Church Drive, Carrington, Nottingham, NG5 2BA
How will the parcels be sent to me?
Each parcel will be sent by Royal Mail. The first parcel will be posted mid February 2013. The remaining five installments will be posted on or just before the 1st of the month.
When posting to countries outside of the EU (inc. The Channel Islands) we are required to fill in a CN22 form which is attached to the front of the parcel. We cannot be held liable for any tax or duty that you may be asked to pay on the contents of your package should it be opened and investigated by customs officials.
Do you supply the yarn as well?
No. We only supply the patterns and the beads for the projects, the idea of the club is for you to either use up your existing stash or treat yourself to a new project. We will tell you exactly what yarn the designer used in the project but it is up to you whether you decide to use the same or go for a different type/make or colour of yarn. The choice is yours!
Do you send full packets of beads or just enough for the project?
Yes we will send you out full packs of the beads (approx. 500 beads in each pack). Not all the designs will use full packets so you should still have some left over for future projects.
How many bags of beads do I get for each project?
Each project contains at least two bags of beads, some have even more!
It is important to note some terms and conditions:
- Please be aware that colours can look different on a PC screen or in a magazine than they do in 'real life'. We cannot be held responsible if you decide that you do not like the design, colour or style of the piece.
- It is your responsibility to ensure that you achieve the correct tension across your stitches when working through the piece. Failure to do so will affect the amount of yarn that you will use.
- Patterns will be written using UK terminology.
- Please protect the designs and the exclusivity of the club by not photocopying or passing the patterns to a third party.
